Lens & Luxe is a business name of SS Wholesale and Holding, Inc., 709 Woodward Ave, Muscle Shoals, AL 35661, United States (“Lens & Luxe,” “we,” “us”). This policy explains what information we collect when you shop at lensandluxe.com and checkout.lensandluxe.com, use our prescription form, or contact us by phone, text, email or social media, and what we do with it.
Information we collect
Information you give us.
- Your name, email address, phone number, and shipping and billing addresses.
- Your account login, if you create an account.
- Order details: the frames, lenses and options you choose, and any frames you send us to have lenses put in.
- Prescription information: your prescription values and pupillary distance (PD), a copy of your prescription if you upload one, or, if you ask us to get it from your eye doctor, the patient’s name and date of birth and the doctor’s name, phone and fax number.
- What you send us: emails, text messages, phone calls, social media messages, reviews and photos.
- Your email address or phone number if you sign up for offers.
Payment information. Card and wallet payments are handled by our payment providers, Stripe and PayPal, by pay-later providers such as Klarna and Afterpay, and by Sika Health for HSA and FSA cards, when you choose them. Your full card number goes to them, not to us. We receive things like the card type, the last four digits, and whether the payment went through.
Information collected automatically. When you use our site we and our partners collect your IP address, device and browser type, approximate location (based on your IP address), the pages you view, what you search for and click, what you add to your cart, and the site that sent you to us. Some of this comes from cookies and similar tools (see Cookies and tracking). We also use Microsoft Clarity, which records how visitors move through our pages (clicks, scrolling and mouse movement) so we can find and fix problems. Microsoft’s use of this data is described in the Microsoft Privacy Statement.
Information from others. Payment providers tell us whether a payment was approved and may flag fraud. Shipping carriers tell us where your package is. Advertising and social media platforms tell us how our ads perform. If you ask us to contact your eye doctor, the doctor’s office gives us your prescription.
How we use your information
- To make, check and ship your glasses and lenses, and to handle returns and warranty claims.
- To send you order confirmations, shipping updates and answers to your questions.
- To provide customer service, including by phone, text and email.
- To send you offers and news, if you’ve signed up for them.
- To run, secure and improve our site, and to fix errors.
- To measure and improve our advertising.
- To prevent fraud and chargebacks.
- To meet our legal, tax and accounting obligations.
Your prescription
We use your prescription only to make and check your lenses, to answer questions about your order, and to keep a record of what we made for you. We don’t sell it, and we don’t use it for advertising. It’s seen by our staff, by the labs and suppliers that help make your lenses, by the service providers that store it for us, and by your eye doctor’s office if you ask us to contact them.
If you buy glasses for a child, you (the parent or guardian) give us the child’s prescription, and we use it only to fill your order.
Phone calls, texts and AI tools
Calls to our phone line may be recorded, transcribed and summarized by our phone provider so that we have an accurate record of your order and what we promised you.
We text you about your order and to answer your messages. If you agree to receive marketing text messages, you can reply STOP at any time to stop them. Message and data rates may apply. We don’t share your mobile number or your consent to receive texts with anyone else for their own marketing.
We use AI tools from service providers to help us sort the messages you send us and to draft replies. A member of our team reviews replies before they’re sent.
Who we share information with
We don’t sell your personal information for money. We share it with:
- Service providers that run parts of our business for us: website and cloud hosting, our online store platform (WordPress and WooCommerce), payments, shipping (USPS and UPS), email (such as Klaviyo), phone and text messaging, site search, analytics, error monitoring, customer service tools and AI tools.
- Labs, suppliers and fulfillment partners that help make and ship your order.
- Trustpilot, which may email you after an order to ask for a review. We give it your name, email address and order number for this.
- Advertising and analytics partners, including Google, Meta (Facebook and Instagram) and Microsoft, through the cookies and pixels described below.
- Authorities and others when the law requires it, or when needed to protect our customers, our business or others from fraud or harm.
- A buyer or successor if our business is sold or reorganized.
- Anyone else you ask us to share with, such as your eye doctor.
Under some state laws, letting advertising partners collect information through cookies and pixels on our site counts as “selling” or “sharing” personal information, or as “targeted advertising.” You can opt out as described in Your choices.
Cookies and tracking
Cookies are small files that a website stores in your browser. Pixels and tags are small pieces of code that report what happens on a page. We use them for:
- Running the store: keeping your cart, keeping you signed in, and completing checkout. The site doesn’t work properly without these.
- Analytics: Google Analytics, Microsoft Clarity, WordPress.com (Jetpack) stats on our checkout, Vercel Speed Insights and our own page-speed measurements, to see how the site is used and how fast it loads.
- Advertising: Google Ads and the Meta Pixel, to measure which ads lead to visits and purchases and to show our ads to people who might be interested. When you place an order, your email address, phone number and address may be sent to Google and Meta in scrambled (hashed) form so they can match the purchase to an ad you saw.
- Email marketing: Klaviyo, to recognize subscribers and show sign-up forms.
Our Cookie Policy lists each cookie, what it does and how long it lasts.
Your choices
- Marketing emails: click “unsubscribe” in any marketing email. We’ll still send emails about your orders.
- Marketing texts: reply STOP.
- Cookies: you can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you block the ones that run the store, your cart and checkout may not work.
- Ads: manage Google ads at myadcenter.google.com and Meta ads in your Facebook or Instagram ad preferences. You can also opt out of interest-based ads from many companies at optout.aboutads.info and optout.networkadvertising.org.
- Opting out of selling, sharing or targeted ads: besides the tools above, you can email us and we’ll stop using your email address and phone number for advertising.
Our site doesn’t respond to the “Do Not Track” setting in browsers.
Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to know what personal information we have about you, get a copy of it, correct it, delete it, and opt out of its sale, sharing or use for targeted advertising. We’ll honor these requests for any customer, wherever you live, except where we’re legally required to keep information, such as order and tax records.
To make a request, email hello@lensandluxe.com or call (256) 248-9480. We’ll confirm it’s you by matching details from your orders or account, and we’ll respond within 45 days. You can have someone make a request for you if you give them written permission. If we turn down your request, you can appeal by replying to our answer; if we still say no, you can contact your state attorney general. We won’t charge you more or treat you differently for using these rights.
How long we keep information
We keep your information as long as we need it for the reasons in this policy. Order records, including the prescription used for an order, are kept for returns, warranty and remakes, and for as long as tax and accounting rules require. Messages and call records are kept as part of your customer service history. When we no longer need information, we delete it or anonymize it.
How we protect information
Our site uses encryption (HTTPS), access to customer information is limited to people who need it for their work, and card payments are handled by payment providers that meet card industry security standards. No system is perfectly secure, so we can’t guarantee that information will never be accessed without permission.
Children
Our site isn’t meant for children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect personal information from them. If you think a child under 13 has given us personal information, contact us and we’ll delete it.
Our social media accounts
We use tools from platforms such as TikTok, Meta and Google to publish our own posts and videos to our business accounts. These connections give us access only to our own accounts, not to information about you. If you contact us on a social media platform or leave a review on a site like Trustpilot, that platform’s own privacy policy also applies.
Where information is stored
We’re based in the United States, and your information is stored and processed in the United States. If you order from outside the U.S., your information is transferred here.
Changes to this policy
When we update this policy, we change the “Last updated” date above. If we make a significant change to how we use your information, we’ll also tell you on our site or by email.
